Hello again everyone! Woaah… this has been one of the busiest months for me, I don’t remember being this busy with art works! That’s a great sign, right? I mean, I might be doing something right to find happiness in what I make ^o^) It’s super fulfilling to be able to make ~this~ work out *cries
Anyway, our friend Mary is finally seeing the right path to start working on the newsletter. For those who might be here and didn’t read the pages, Mary recently accepted to write a newsletter as an extra job, but she was feeling discouraged as she was too worried to mess it up from the very beginning. *sad voice
Worry not Mary! We got your back!
If you want to read the pages before this one, you can read it at my site too. Not sure if it’ll be better to upload this somewhere else, like a webcomic platform or similar? Well, maybe whenever I’ve over 20 pages or so? <3
Summary of March’s work
Time to show you all what I’ve been making! As I said, this has been a nice month but unfortunately, anything I’ve done can be shown - for now-. It kind of feels like I didn’t really move my ass too much, to the eyes of the internet. Don’t you sometimes feel like that? When you don’t share whatever you’ve been making, it looks like you’re not actually working, but the path of any creative is like that: Working in silence, accomplishing stuff in silence, being quiet all the time… *laughs*
If you remember, I work on monthly wallpapers for Patreon, my lovely people have been helping me decide themes to draw. This is the last Ghibli wallpaper, from a movie I didn’t have the opportunity to watch until recently.
The last two new wallpapers are out of Patreon now, you can grab the one you like the most at my Ko-fi shop! Patreon isn’t the most loveable place to some of you, so I will keep uploading these out of this paywall site whenever I’ve two new ones. I absolutely do this for fun and to have, at least, one illustration every month. It has been working out until now, so I don’t think I’ll stop, yet I’ve been feeling a bit burned out with the Ghibli themes (I’ve drawn 6) so we’re moving the poll theme to nostalgic childhood anime such Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, Ojamajo Doremi… it’s gonna be fun! Don’t miss out!
Besides of my excitement with my monthly wallpapers, I would like to show you some cropped previews of the illustrations I’ve made this last month and the ones I’ve mentioned on the last newsletter update.
The one on the left is an “Animal Crossing” illustration for the upcoming magazine “LOOP #3”. I’ve been taking part of this lovely project since the first issue, and slowly, they’ve been giving me bigger works! Maybe they like what I’ve been doing so far? T u T) If you want to know more about this project, I will talk about it as soon as they announce the crowfounding which will be soon, in May. The other one on the right is from “Sailor Moon”, an illustration I’ve done for “Sun and Moon” anthology, run under Denuit by the amazing artist Noc. There’s still time for this project to be out, but the lineup of artist was already announced at their Twitter account! I’m very hyped to take part of Noc’s anthologies, please don’t forget to check them out and give a follow!
I’ve also had the opportunity to make a promoted work for XPPen! I can’t post or show the work yet *screams* but whenever I can, I will T u T) It has been a really nice first experience, yes this is my first promo! I’ve always wondered how this actually works, I mean, they gave me a free tablet… is this actually happening to me? T u T) I can’t wait to show it all to you guys, I’m so hyped with it, I might even make a separate newsletter to show it along with my workspace, if this is something you might like to see <3
And finally!! Let me finish this -again, too long- newsletter with a preview of the comic I’ve announced last time… I’ll publish in France! Look forward to it, this month will be totally focused on finishing it, so let’s goooooo!!
This is page 4 of 30, all I’ve to do now is coloring it, and it’ll be done! Only the translation to french will be left, but the deadline is pretty far away. I can totally be at peace with it.
Recommendation of the month
“Synapses” is the most recent autobiographical comic by one of my favorite artist, Ivo Puiupo. It’s a very intense comic book with short stories, all of these are drawn in a different way but yet it still follows the autobio theme to the very end. It’s a very transparent and hard story, it felt like the author themselves was explaining their ups and downs directly to me… I’m very touched with it, and despite the hard parts from it, I’m very happy readers can meet Puiupo through it. This comic was published by Kus!
And that’s all for now, see you soon with my work space tour!
